The short answer
Digital marketing means bringing the right customers to your business through online channels, such as SEO, Facebook, Google and TikTok ads, and LINE OA, then measuring results in sales or leads. A Thai business should start with a website ready to convert and correct tracking, pick the one or two channels its customers use most, and adjust weekly from real data.
Digital marketing covers everything that turns people online into customers: appearing in search results, running targeted ads, and messaging past buyers so they come back. Unlike traditional media, almost every baht can be measured. You can see how many people each budget brought in and how much they bought.
What many businesses miss is that digital marketing only works fully when the destination is ready. Send ad traffic to a slow page with no contact button or missing details, and the ad money is wasted. That is why we always start with the website, then the same team that built it brings people in.
It suits online shops that want more web sales, service businesses that need quality leads, such as clinics, property or B2B, and businesses that want long-term Google rankings so they rely less on paid ads.
Good digital marketing starts with a numeric goal, such as monthly sales or leads, and a ready budget. Tracking is set up before any campaign goes live, because what you can’t measure you can’t improve. Once running, the team should adjust audiences, creatives and budget every week, and give you a plain summary every month.
Facebook and Instagram still give the widest targeted reach in Thailand, for both product sales and lead generation. Google suits people already searching for what you sell, through search ads, Google Shopping and SEO. These visitors are often closer to buying, because they came looking.
LINE OA is essential in Thailand because most Thais use LINE every day. It is ideal for chat, bookings, promotions and looking after existing customers. TikTok has become both an awareness channel and a sales channel through TikTok Shop, where creators and live streams drive sales. It fits products people understand at a glance, such as beauty, fashion, food and home goods.
Most businesses don’t need every channel at once. Start with the one or two your customers actually use to decide, make them work, then expand. Spreading a small budget thinly means no channel collects enough data to improve.
Work starts with goals and budget, then tracking, then campaigns launched with several creatives and clear audiences. After that, weekly optimisation moves budget to what works and stops what doesn’t. Setting up tracking usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how ready the existing website is.
Ads show data within days, but Meta’s and Google’s systems need time to learn. Allow roughly 2 to 6 weeks before judging a campaign, and avoid editing it too often early on, because each big change makes the system start learning again.
SEO is long term. A new site, or one that has never had SEO work, usually starts to see movement within 3 to 6 months, and competitive keywords can take 6 to 12 months or more. The upside is that once you rank, visitors keep arriving without paying per click.
Digital marketing cost has two parts to keep separate. First, ad spend paid directly to platforms such as Meta, Google or TikTok. Second, the fee for the team that plans, makes creatives, optimises and reports. Some agencies charge a percentage of ad spend, which can create a reason to push spend up. We charge a fixed fee with no cut of your ad spend.
Fees vary with the number of channels, the number of creatives per month, how complex tracking is (for example, a site that needs Conversion API or back-office connections), the volume of SEO articles and how often you want reports. Ad spend itself depends on competition in your industry, season and goal. During big sale days such as 11.11 or 12.12, ad costs usually rise.
The numbers to watch depend on the goal. For online shops: sales from ads, ROAS (revenue per baht of spend) and cost per purchase. For lead generation: cost per lead and, more importantly, how many leads become paying customers. For SEO: search traffic, ranking keywords and how many search visitors contact you or buy.
Likes, views and followers are useful signals along the way, but they shouldn’t decide success. A campaign with lots of likes and no buyers has not worked. Connecting data from ads, the website and your sales system shows what each baht actually brings in.
Search is changing. Many people now get answers from Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT or Gemini without clicking a website. SEO is expanding into AEO and GEO: getting your brand chosen as a source in AI answers. What works: direct answers near the top of each page, correct schema, FAQ pages, consistent business details everywhere, and reviews and mentions on trusted sites.
On the ads side, Meta is pushing Advantage+, where AI picks audiences, placements and budget on its own. The marketer’s role is shifting from fine-tuned targeting to feeding the system varied creatives and accurate conversion data. TikTok Shop and live selling keep growing in the region, making creators and short video a core part of sales plans.
First-party data, such as LINE OA friends, members and purchase history, matters more every year as third-party cookie tracking gets harder. Collection must follow Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), fully in force since 2022: ask for clear consent and use data only as stated. A cookie banner paired with Google Consent Mode respects users’ choices while keeping measurement close to reality.
A good agency starts by asking about business goals, not just how many likes you want. You should own the ad accounts, Pixel and GA4, so the data stays with your business even if you change agencies. Reports should tie plainly to sales or leads, and say what didn’t work and how it will be fixed.
Common mistakes: running ads before tracking is in place, sending people to a page that isn’t ready to sell, using one ad image for too long, judging campaigns before the system has learned, leaving ad-driven chats waiting until the customer leaves, and never messaging past customers who are already on your LINE OA list.
If you need sales or leads quickly, start with ads, which show results within weeks. But begin SEO at the same time, because it takes months to pay off and then reduces your reliance on ads. On a tight budget, fixing technical SEO and strengthening your main service pages is a good-value starting point.
There is no single number for every business. Work backwards from your goal: how many customers you want and how much you can afford to pay for one. The budget must be large enough for the platform to gather data within a few weeks. If it is very small, keep it in one channel and one campaign rather than spreading it so thin nothing learns.
SEO aims to rank your site in search results. AEO (answer engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation) aim to get your brand cited in AI answers, such as Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. All three share the same base: clear answers, sound site structure and trust. AEO and GEO put more weight on short, direct answers and facts AI can verify.
LINE OA lets customers ask questions instantly in an app they use daily, and lets you send offers straight to past buyers. What works is tagging customers, for example by last purchase date or product interest, and sending targeted messages instead of one blast to everyone. That reduces blocks and saves your message quota.
It suits products people understand from a short video, at moderate prices, bought on impulse, such as beauty, fashion, food and home goods. If your product needs long explanation or is very expensive, TikTok may work better for awareness. Starting with creators through the affiliate programme is a low-risk way to test.
Advantage+ is Meta’s set of automated tools where AI chooses audiences, placements and budget. It tends to work well with accurate conversion data from Pixel and Conversion API and a range of creatives to choose from. If tracking is incomplete, fix that first, and test it against a manual campaign to see which gives your business the better cost.
Thailand’s PDPA requires businesses to state their purpose and, in many cases, get consent when collecting or using personal data, for example advertising cookies or marketing messages. Have a cookie banner, a privacy policy people can understand, and collect only the data you actually use. For specific cases, ask a legal professional.
Conversion API sends purchase or form data from your website’s server straight to Meta, instead of relying only on the browser Pixel, which can be blocked or miss events. Meta then sees more of your sales, finds the right customers more accurately, and your reports get closer to the truth. Google and TikTok offer similar server-side options.
There are three usual causes. The audience or ad message doesn’t match people ready to buy. The landing page is the problem: slow, missing details, unclear price or a hard checkout. Or tracking is incomplete, so real sales happen but aren’t recorded. Check all three before adding budget.
Ads produce data within days and usually give a clearer picture within 2 to 6 weeks, once the system has learned. SEO often shows movement in 3 to 6 months, longer for competitive keywords. LINE OA and work with existing customers often pay off quickly if you already have a customer list.
Google is showing more inline links, placed higher, in AI Overviews and AI Mode. But it has shared no click data, and research shows clicks have already fallen sharply.
Digital marketingDAAT and Kantar now expect Thai digital ad spend to grow 0.3% in 2026 to about THB 32.3 billion. Where the money moved, and how Thai businesses should adjust.
AEO & SEOGoogle’s official guide says AEO and GEO are SEO. No llms.txt, no content chunking, no special schema. What works is original content and a site Google can read.
