The short answer

If our brand already sells on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and in stores, do we still need a brand website?

Yes. Marketplaces drive sales, but your brand website is the one place where you control the story, the look and the customer data. A good brand site tells the brand and product story, has complete product pages, a “where to buy” page linking to online stores and a store locator, and landing pages for new product launches.

How consumers search and decide in 2026

Online shopping in Thailand is growing fast. The e-Conomy SEA 2025 report projects Thai e-commerce at around US$33 billion for 2025, up 22% on the year before, with video sellers up 175%. Many Thais first see a product in a short video or a live stream and buy it in the app on the spot.

For pricier products, or products that go on or in the body, such as supplements, cosmetics or baby goods, people often search Google to check that the brand is real, what the ingredients are, whether it has a Thai FDA number and which shop is official. That is the moment your brand website builds confidence.

AI assistants are becoming a starting point too. People ask things like “which sunscreens for oily skin can I buy at 7-Eleven?”. If your product information exists only as images on marketplace listings, the AI may not know about you at all.

Must-have pages and features for a brand site

A brand site doesn’t have to be a full online store. Many brands use the site to tell their story and send people to buy wherever is easiest. What matters is a brand story page people remember, product pages with ingredients, usage, sizes and registration numbers, and a “where to buy” page that links to your official shop on every marketplace plus a map of physical stockists.

For each new product, a launch landing page lets every ad and post send people to the same place, with images, copy and offers that match what they saw. If you want to sell direct as well, add ordering and a membership scheme so the customer relationship belongs to your brand.

  • A brand story page and a clear identity
  • Product pages with ingredients, usage and registration numbers
  • Where to buy: official shop links and store locator
  • Launch landing pages for new products
  • Reviews and content from real customers
  • Contact route for distributors and retailers

Integrations common in Thailand

Most Thai consumer brands sell in several places at once, so the site should link to official Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop stores with trackable links, so you can see where visitors from the site go to buy. If you sell direct, connect a payment gateway with PromptPay, cards and instalments, plus a shipping service that issues tracking numbers automatically.

LINE OA is where Thai brands handle after-sales care, send coupons and announce new products. Install the Meta Pixel, Conversions API, TikTok Pixel and Google Analytics 4 from day one, so you can measure ads and build audiences from people who visited the site.

  • Official store links on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop
  • Payment gateway with PromptPay, cards and instalments
  • LINE OA for coupons and after-sales care
  • Meta Pixel, Conversions API, TikTok Pixel and GA4
  • Store locator using Google Maps

Content, SEO and AEO for consumer brands

Product pages on your brand site should be the most complete source of information about each product, written as real text rather than images with words on them. Say who it suits, how to use it, what is in it and how it differs. Add Product and Organization structured data so Google and AI assistants understand who you are and what you sell.

Content works when it answers pre-purchase questions, such as “is it OK for sensitive skin?” or “can I take it with medication?” (answered within what you are permitted to claim), along with how-to guides and usage ideas or recipes. Clips made for TikTok or Reels can be embedded on product pages so people arriving from Google see the product in real use.

Trust, regulation and PDPA

Many consumer products, including food, drinks, supplements and cosmetics, fall under the Thai Food and Drug Administration for both registration and advertising. Health or benefit claims must stay within what is permitted. Check your website copy, ads and influencer content against the FDA’s current rules, or ask a specialist, before publishing.

Show registration numbers, company details and how to spot your official stores, because counterfeits on marketplaces worry customers. If you collect member data, run giveaways or use tracking pixels, you need a privacy policy, a cookie banner and consent under the PDPA.

How to measure results

A brand site that doesn’t sell direct can still be measured. Track clicks to each official marketplace store, store-locator searches, LINE add-friends and member sign-ups. If you sell direct, watch conversion rate, average order value and repeat purchase rate.

During a launch, measure the landing page separately from the main site, and compare Google searches for your brand name before and after the campaign. That shows whether more people now remember you.

  • Clicks to official stores by marketplace
  • Store-locator searches and LINE add-friends
  • Brand-name searches before and after campaigns
  • Direct sales and repeat purchases (if any)

Common mistakes

The first mistake is a different look in every channel: logo, colours and tone vary between packaging, website and social, so people don’t recognise the brand. Another is a site full of nice images but no product information, or no sign of where to buy, so buyers have to search on their own and may land on a shop that isn’t yours.

Oversized images that make the site slow on mobile are also common. Most visitors arrive from ads on their phone, and if they wait too long they close the page before seeing the product. Finally, launching without a landing page means ads send people to a home page that has nothing to do with the new product.

A realistic launch roadmap

If the brand doesn’t yet have a clear identity, start there, because the website, packaging and social graphics will all use the same system. Branding and packaging often take around 6–10 weeks depending on the range and rounds of revisions. A brand website with product and where-to-buy pages typically takes another 6–10 weeks.

For a new product launch, have the landing page and graphics ready at least two weeks before launch day so you can test ads and tracking, and get the copy checked against Thai FDA rules before any ads go out.

  • Weeks 1–2: brand strategy, audience and competitors
  • Weeks 2–8: identity, packaging and graphic system
  • Weeks 8–14: brand site, product and where-to-buy pages
  • 2 weeks before launch: landing page, ad and tracking tests

Frequently asked questions

We sell well on marketplaces. Why do we need a brand site?

A marketplace belongs to the platform: rules, fees and store layouts can change at any time, and your access to customer data is limited. Your brand site is the space you control, where you tell the story, show full product details, confirm which stores are official and build your own customer base through membership or LINE OA.

Does a brand site need to sell products too?

Not always. Many brands use the site to tell the story and send people to official marketplace stores or retailers, which is quicker to set up. If you want better margins, your own customer data or subscription products, add direct selling on the site later.

What should a “where to buy” page include?

Links to your official store on every marketplace you sell on, a store locator searchable by province or “near me”, the retail chains that stock you, and a contact route for shops that want to become stockists. Use trackable links so you know which channel visitors from the site prefer.

Should we start with the logo, packaging or website?

Start with the brand identity: logo, colours, type and tone of voice, because everything after uses the same system. Packaging and the website can then run in parallel. Building the site before the identity is settled usually means redoing it once the brand changes.

How much can we claim about product benefits on the site?

For food, supplements, drinks and cosmetics, advertising and health claims fall under Thai FDA rules and must stay within what has been permitted. The rules cover your website, ads and review content alike. Check the FDA’s latest notifications or consult a specialist before publishing.

How is a launch landing page different from a product page?

A product page is the complete, permanent reference. A launch landing page is built for the campaign: copy and images that match the ads, the launch offer and a single clear action, such as buy now or claim a coupon. It also lets you measure the campaign separately from the main site.

How do we measure a brand site that doesn’t sell direct?

Track clicks to each official marketplace store, store-locator searches, LINE add-friends and sign-ups, and compare Google searches for your brand before and after campaigns. Some marketplaces offer attribution tools for outside links, which help connect site clicks to sales more closely.

Can we use TikTok or Reels clips on the website?

Yes, and you should. Clips showing the product in real use help people arriving from Google understand it faster. Embed them on product or landing pages, set them to load only when scrolled into view so the page stays fast, and get permission before using a creator’s video.
